The biggest limiting factor of solar technology have always been the cost of batteries. But with recent development of LifePo4 batteries, it has become more realistic and cost effective option. For our off grid solar system, we use a DIY 8700wh 24v LifePO4 battery stack, 1000watts solar panels, a 40Amp charge controller and a 3000watts invertor. Powering 4 mini fridges, lights, blenders, charging devices and small power tools occasionally. When its been shady for a few days, we supplement our energy needs with a backup 1600watts invertor generator.
